We deliver a range of research services including research training, evaluation, policy development, impact studies, survey design, data analysis, strategy and feasibility studies. We work with public sector bodies, philanthropic organisations, commercial businesses and NGOs at a national and international level.

mySociety’s Research team has significant expertise in designing research methodologies, conducting research training, engaging with research participants, analysing strategy and examining the impact of projects and programmes.

As the world’s first NGO in the field of digital democracy, we have amassed a wealth of research and design experience in the emerging fields of Civic Tech, Open Data, digital civic engagement and digital civic participation. We conduct research all over the world, and benefit from a large global network of development, digital and democracy organisations.

Our services

Research training

Our research team is available to provide training in a wide range of research areas and methods tailored to your needs. Our experience in academia and in practitioner research means we can cover a spectrum of interests, from the theoretical to the operational. We can provide anything from a short half-day session to a more comprehensive multi-day course.

Research consultancy

Want questions answered but don’t have the capacity to conduct research internally? Need a detailed and reliable overview of a specific field that is impartial? Our team can provide anything from a short survey on a particular theme to a high quality holistic research service designed to provide a comprehensive body of evidence on your subject of interest.

Our rates

As an NGO we understand the need to economise without compromising quality.  We want to share our expertise as widely as possible, and we genuinely want to conduct good quality research into areas of digital democracy that are as yet severely under-researched. To that end  we aim to keep our rates extremely low. Our rates start as low as £500 per day + expenses.
