Marketing and PR Manager
Based in Manchester, Sally joined mySociety in December 2020. As our Marketing & PR Manager, Sally’s main focus is on helping to increase brand awareness of mySociety’s commercial arm, SocietyWorks, through which we provide services to local government and the public sector, such as FixMyStreet Pro.
Sally’s role is a varied one: she does everything from growing our profile on social media and sharing our stories with the press, to creating new partnerships and owning our marketing strategy.
In other words, she’s SocietyWorks’ biggest cheerleader, making sure as many people as possible can benefit from our tools and become more active citizens.
Before joining mySociety, Sally worked on both B2B and B2C marketing within the early careers recruitment sector, where she helped to boost the profile of graduate employers and close the gap between them and the young talent they want to hire, through content marketing, social media and community engagement.
Outside of work, Sally is an avid baker and birdwatcher (her favourite bake is a marmalade loaf and her favourite bird is a goldcrest, if you wanted to know). When she’s not baking or birdwatching, Sally also volunteers with her local canal restoration group, keeps lots of house plants alive and spends a lot of money on “proper” coffees.
Sally is one of mySociety’s qualified Mental Health First Aiders, helping to support, reassure and signpost fellow colleagues to professional support.
Sally is fluent in: French (she studied French at the University of Birmingham, and lived in France during her third year).
