Acting Head of Fundraising
Faith joined the team in February 2025, stepping in as Head of Fundraising to provide maternity cover.
Her task? As she puts it, “To raise the vital funds to ensure mySociety can continue to develop and deliver innovative tech solutions that enable people to come together, take action and break down barriers to democratic participation”. And Faith’s not wasting any time — she’s getting stuck in, with a goal to “secure the support needed for mySociety to continue having a positive impact, long into the future.”
What was Faith’s path into fundraising? “I graduated with a Social Science degree, and after a brief spell exploring whether or not to do postgrad studies in Criminal Psychology, I found myself working for a local charity that delivered pioneering research into skin cell and nerve regeneration.
“Seeing the profound impact this work had on people’s lives was my motivator for staying in the sector. Since then, I’ve built a career leading fundraising functions for a broad range of great causes spanning health, medical research, disability, the arts, veteran welfare and conservation. And now, I’m very much looking forward to putting my skills and experiences to good use at mySociety.
“One of my proudest professional achievements was securing the funding needed to kick-start the Act FAST campaign for The Stroke Association. The campaign’s legacy was increased awareness of the signs of when a stroke is happening and better early detection and treatment for all those affected.”
Located in Sussex on the edge of Ashdown Forest, Faith enjoys walking and exploring at the weekends. “As a family, we often play a weekend board game: anything from Catan to Feast of Odin. I also have a hockey-mad 10 year old, so am often up and out at the crack of dawn every Sunday to cheer him on in his matches.”
She’s also rubbed shoulders with some big names in her time: “I used to organise an annual charity music event that brought new artists to the stage in their early careers, which meant working with artists like Amy Winehouse and Adele before they were famous”. We hope the bright lights of the civic tech world prove to be equally beguiling!
