Common Purpose Graduates

Describe your idea:

I would like to see who in govenment and public services have been on Graduate training courses with the pseudo-charity ‘Common Purpose’, and how much taxpayer money has been funnelled into their organisation.

What problem does it solve?:

This would solve the probem of the secrecy involved around how many expensive wreckers are in our country’s administration working ‘for the Common Good’.

Type of idea: A brand new project

  1. WhatDoTheyKnow is being used extensively to look into the influence of “Common Purpose”, with over 400 Freedom of Information requests having been made on the subject.

    These requests are being made by a large number of different users.

    Brochures describing courses run by Common Purpose have been released, along with details of invoices revealing some public bodies have spent many tens of thousands of pounds of public money with the organisation.

    Requests are often met by a response saying that what senior public figures do with “Common Purpose” is done in a personal capacity, and it has been reported that Common Purpose is “concerned at the volume of FOI requests being made about it” and there have been suggestions that it is coordinating attempts to prevent information being revealed via FOI requests.
