Describe your idea:
Collect actual departure and arrival times for public transport journeys (probably most useful for trains) and compare with timetables. Passengers update via SMS (probably against a pre-registered journey, suitable for commuters), mobile web, iPhone / Android app. Additional smarts: use GPS on cleverer clients to submit automatically.
What problem does it solve?:
Current reported transport operator performance data is adjusted to fit Passenger Charter commitments and don’t provide an accurate picture. Will show which company’s ‘97% on time’ actually means ‘no more than 10 minutes late’.
